Rwamagana

Rwamagana is a city in the east of Rwanda. The city is located about 50 kilometers east of Kigali and is the capital of the Eastern Province. Rwamagana has about 50,000 inhabitants.

Rwamanga is on the main transit route from Kigali to Tanzania, through which runs the vast majority of freight from Tanzania. During the last renewal of a road bypass around Rwamagana was built so that the freight and transit traffic no longer goes through the city center.
