RWE npower

RWE npower is an energy supply companies in the RWE Group in the UK. There is an electricity and natural gas supplier based in Swindon in Wiltshire.


As part of the privatization of the UK electricity market in 1990, who worked in England and Wales utilities Central Electricity Generating Board in the three companies Powergen, National Power and Nuclear Electric and the electricity network operator National Grid Company was divided.

In November 1998, National Power has the regional electricity supplier Midlands Electricity taken over and developed the current brand npower. In 2001, National Power was divided between investor pressure in the two companies Innogy for the British national business and International Power for international business. The new Innogy has been traded on the London Stock Exchange in mid-2001 and was in the FTSE 100 Index.

In March 2002, was taken over by RWE Innogy for 4.3 billion euros and renamed RWE npower.
