2001: world champion in keirin 2004: Olympic champion in the sprint and keirin

Ryan Neville Bayley ( born March 9, 1982 in Perth ) is an Australian racing cyclist.

At the age of 15 years, Ryan Bayley began to participate in competitions. His first international success came at the 2001 Bayley web - Cycling World Championships, when he won the title in the Keirin. A year later he won the sprint and team sprint at the Commonwealth Games. At the 2004 Olympic Games was followed by his two most important success so far with the Olympic victories in the sprint and keirin. In 2006 at the Commonwealth Games, he won again in the sprint and keirin.

2004 Ryan Bayley received the " Hubert Opperman Award" ( " Oppy Oscar" ), named after the legendary Australian cycling star Hubert Opperman, for the best performance of the year in Australian sport. In 2005 him the Medal of the Order of Australia was awarded.
