Ryan International Airlines

Ryan International Airlines was an American charter airline based in Rockford.

History

The story of Ryan International dates back to the year 1968, when Ronald D. Ryan began as chief pilot at Jack P. DeBoer Associates. The company founded in 1972, the DeBoer Aviation. In 1975, Ron Ryan and George Ablah took over the DeBoer Aviation in equal parts and called them into Ryan Aviation Corporation (RAC ). The company employed as a flight base operator with tank and maintenance service. In 1981, the airplane operating as cargo charter company in 1983 as a passenger carrier under the name of Ryan International Airlines.

On June 30, 1986 Ryan Aviation and Ryan International Airlines of the PHH Group, Inc., one on the New York Stock Exchange listed company, bought and renamed PHH - Air Inc..

On 30 June 1988 purchased Ron Ryan of PHH Group the air base operation at Wichita Mid-Continent Airport with her tank operation, aircraft maintenance, hangar and office rental back. The company was renamed back Ryan Aviation Corporation.

On 30 January 1989 PHH - Air has been repurchased by Ron Ryan and renamed Ryan International Airlines. They began flying for the U.S. Postal Service and as a subcontractor for Emery Worldwide Airlines. 1992 began flight operations in the South Pacific with freight to Guam, Saipan and the surrounding islands.

Between 2003-2004 Ryan International flew in regular service for AirTran from Atlanta to the U.S. west coast. In 2006, the headquarters from Wichita to Rockford, Illinois was moved. Last flew Ryan International exclusively on behalf of the U.S. military. Leipzig / Halle Airport is often refueling stop for flights from the United States or in the United States and the Middle East.

In March 2012, Ryan International filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11, in January 2013 they finally ceased flight operations.

  • National and international charter flights for tour companies, sports teams, and tour groups.
