Ryan Longwell ( born August 16, 1974 in Seattle, Washington ) is a former American professional American football player at the position of the kicker. He played eight years for the Green Bay Packers, and five years for the Minnesota Vikings and in a play-off game for the Seattle Seahawks in the National Football League ( NFL).
College
Longwell attended the University of California, in his team, he worked both as a kicker and as a punter. He celebrated sporting success in college football and graduated with a bachelor's degree also in English.
NFL
Green Bay Packers
1997 signed Ryan Longwell, without coming into the NFL Draft, signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers. Previously, he was already at the San Francisco 49ers under contract, but had no use. He reached with the Packers the Super Bowl (XXXII ), where he succeeded in a field goal and three extra points. His contract ended in 2006 and was not renewed.
Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings secured the services of the then 31 -year-old. In his second game for the Vikings, he was responsible for all the points in the 16:13 victory over the Carolina Panthers. He scored three field goals and threw a touchdown after a fake field goal attempt.
Seattle Seahawks
After the kicker of the Seattle Seahawks, Steven Hauschka, infringes on the calf in the play-off game against the Washington Redskins, the Seahawks Longwell committed on 9 January 2013 as the replacement. Longwell had previously contested in the 2012 season and was not a game without a team. He kicked in the play-off game against the Atlanta Falcons four extra points, the Seahawks lost yet with 28:30. In August 2013 Longwell announced his career as a player of the Green Bay Packers to finish.
