Career

His first real hockey season, he played in the 2003/04 season for the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where he achieved the same in his rookie season 19 points in 39 games, it was enough to be elected to the WCHA All- Rookie defenseman. In 2003, he was also from the Nashville Predators in seventh place in the NHL Entry Draft drawn in 2003.

In the 2004/05 season the Predators took him into their AHL farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals. As an AHL rookie, he came to 23 points in 63 games. This performance gave the Predators to him for the season 2005/ 06 to the NHL team. However, Suter was in his first NHL season under much criticism because Shea Weber, who was drafted a round after Suter, developed much faster and better than Suter. Nevertheless, he played a good season for a rookie. Suter was able to improve from season to season, with 31 points so he set a new personal record in the 2007/ 08 season.

Suter participated with the United States at the 2010 Winter Olympics and won the silver medal with the team.
