Ryman Auditorium

Located in downtown Nashville's Ryman Auditorium is one of the places of worship of country music. From 1943 to 1974 it housed the Grand Ole Opry.

History

End of the 19th century by Thomas Green Ryman built as a church with 6,000 seats, it was soon as a platform for concerts and political events. From 1943 on, the radio station WSM transferred allsamstäglich the legendary Grand Ole Opry show in all American households. Even the Grand Ole Opry returned for a few weeks. The Ryman Auditorium with the adjacent museum is now one of the main tourist attractions of Nashville.
