Rýmařov

Rýmařov ( German Roman town ) is a town in the Moravian-Silesian Region Okres Bruntál in Moravian (Czech Republic).

Geography

Rýmařov lies in the valley of the creek Podolský between the slopes of the Low forging die ( Nízký Jeseník ) and Altvater Mountains ( Hruby Jeseník ) about 50 km north of the city of Olomouc.

History

The first written mention was made in the year 1351st

On October 15, 1878 Roman city received rail connection through the state railway Kriegsdorf - Roman city.

The political district Rýmařov came in 1938 after the Munich Agreement as a county Roman city of the German Reich. On December 1, 1930 Roman town had 6,108 inhabitants, on 17 May 1939 were 5,859 inhabitants and on May 22, 1947 4,230 inhabitants. Because of the Beneš decrees in 1945 the German population, reported from a few skilled workers from the community.

Basic settlement units are 8 května, Edrovice, Harrachov, Harrachovský Kopec, Holý vrch, Jamartice, Janovice Janovický les, Janušov ( John village), Mlýnský vrch, Na stráni, Ondřejov, Pod Novopolským potokem, Rudé Armády, Rýmařov - střed, Skalka, Sokolovská, Stráň, Stranske, U nemocnice and Žižkova.

The municipality is divided into the Katastralbezirke Edrovice, Jamartice, Janovice u Rýmařova, Janušov, Ondřejov u Rýmařova, Rýmařov and Stranske ..

The historic center is a listed building since 2003 ( památková zóna ), although it was relatively damaged. The hardest times experienced the city between 1955 and 1974. Many valuable buildings within the market place and two chapels were pulled down. After 1989, people began to restore the historical sights. On the square is a local history museum.
