Rzezawa

Rzezawa is a village located in powiat Bocheński in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland. Rzezawa is seat of the rural commune ( gmina wiejska ).

Geography

Rzezawa located 41 kilometers east of Krakow and 7 km west of Brzesko. Through the town flows the river Gróbka.

History

Casimir the Great in 1350 decided the establishment of the three places Rzezawa, Jodłówka and Borka. In May of the same year he also prompted the construction of a church in Zyrawie ( Rzezawa ).

From 1975 - 1998 the village belonged to the Tarnów Voivodeship.

Geography

The municipality has a surface area of 85.48 km ². 67 % of its territory is used for agriculture, 27 % is covered by forest.

Sołectwo

For the rural municipality include the 11 Sołectwos ( Soltysships ) Borek, Bratucice, Buczków, Dąbrówka Dębina, Jodłówka, Krzeczów, Łazy, Okulice, Ostrow Krolewski and Rzezawa.

Traffic

Through the village runs the Droga Krajowa 4 Jędrzychowice - Korczowa and the railway line Kraków - Rzeszów. The DK4 2011 is still part of the European route 40, after completion of the Autostrada 4 we then to E40. It is built on the territory of the municipality.
