S. Epatha Merkerson
S. Epatha Merkerson ( born November 28, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan Sharon Epatha Merkerson as ) is an American actress.
Life
Merkerson was born as the youngest of five children, a daughter of Ann Merkerson. Her father was a factory worker. The parents separated in 1957.
She won the Golden Globe Award, the Screen Actors Guild, NAACP Image Award and an Emmy. Further, it was for the Tony Award nominated. Particularly well known it was her role as Lieutenant Anita Van Buren in the long-lived crime drama Law & Order, which she held from 1993 until the end of the 2010 series.
