S. Harrison White

Sebastian Harrison White ( born December 24, 1864 Maries County, Missouri, † December 21, 1945 in Colorado Springs, Colorado ) was an American politician. Between 1927 and 1929 he represented the first electoral district of the state of Colorado in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

Harrison White attended the public schools in Dallas County and in Marionville (Missouri ) and then later Ozark Wesleyan College in Carthage. After a few years in the teaching profession in 1886 White was head of Hickory County Teacher 's Institute in the year; a year later he became inspector in Hickory County.

After studying law and its made ​​in 1889 admitted to the bar he began in Pueblo (Colorado) to exercise his new profession. White was a member of the Democratic Party. In 1892 he was a delegate at the Democratic convention in part in Colorado; Furthermore, he was chairman of the party in Pueblo County. Between 1897 and 1899 he was a lawyer of the city Pueblo, for which he worked from 1900 to 1903 and between 1905 and 1909 as trustee. After the death of Congressman William N. Vaile White was elected in a by-election to succeed him in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington.
