S/2000 (1998 WW31 ) 1 is the moon of the trans-Neptunian object 1998 WW31, with which it forms the first double system discovered in the Kuiper belt after Pluto - Charon.

S/2000 (1998 WW31 ) 1 was discovered in April 2001 by Christian Veillet, Joshua Shapiro and Alain Doressoundiram on recordings that were made on 21 and 22 December 2000. The discovery was published on 16 April 2001.
