Discovery

S/2010 J 1 was discovered on September 7, 2010 by the astronomer Robert A. Jacobson, Marina Brozovic, Brett Gladman and M. Alexandersen. The moon has not yet received no official name - these are among the moons of Jupiter usually female figures from Greek mythology - but is in accordance with the Nomenclature of the International Astronomical Union ( IAU) tentatively identified as S/2010 J 1 denotes.

Path data

S/2010 J 1 orbits Jupiter with a semi-major axis of about 23,200,000 kilometers in about 722.8 days. The track has an eccentricity of 0.324. The track is retrograde with an inclination of approximately 163.24 °, that is, the moon moves against the direction of rotation of Jupiter around the planet.
