Sa Coma

Sa Coma (translated " valley " ) is a term coined by tourism place on the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca. It lies on the east coast of the island in the region ( comarca ) Llevant.

Sa Coma has 3045 inhabitants ( 2011), 13 of which reside outside of the actual settlement core, but in the immediate vicinity. The village belongs to the municipality of Sant Llorenç des Cardassar.

Location and infrastructure

Sa Coma is located 63 km east from Palma and 16 km east of Manacor. We reached the place coming from the west via the MA -4021 from Manacor, coming from south of the coast line of Santanyi, past Porto Cristo and S'Illot. The place belongs to the resort of Cala Millor. He is well served by numerous bus services in the area. A small mini train connects Sa Coma with the locations of the holiday resort. A small boat landing is located at the southern end of the beach.

Beach

The sandy beach of Sa Coma extends over a length of almost 890 meters and has an average width of about 60 meters. He has been awarded due to its excellent water quality with the blue flag. Directly behind the beach to the promenade, which merges seamlessly into the promenade of the southern smaller S'Illot resort.

The beach of Sa Coma is valid for recurrent dangerous undercurrents as problematic.

Annual Festivals and Events

  • The Fiestas Patronales de Santa Maria de Sa Coma takes place every year around September 16.
  • The Fiestas del Turista created with the intention to extend the summer tourist season and held annually around the last weekend of September in S'Illot and in Cala Millor and Sa Coma.
