Sa Pobla

Sa Pobla is one of the 53 municipalities of the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca. It counts 12,901 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013), of which 11,912 live in the same place. In 2006, the proportion of foreigners in the community was 19.6 % ( 2,375 ), the proportion of German population 0.6 % (76).

On September 5, 2011, the municipal council of Sa Pobla a ban on full-face veil decided by an absolute majority of the Partido Popular (PP ) as the first municipality in Mallorca ( burqa ban ). For violations are fines between 50 and 200 euros, provided in case of recurrence up to 3000 euros.
