Saab 93 B ( 1957-1959 )

The Saab 93 was a car model of the Swedish manufacturer Saab.

It was launched in August 1955, equipped with a longitudinally mounted 33 -hp three - cylinder two-stroke engine with 748 cc displacement and a 3- speed gearbox with freewheel. The engine was developed and manufactured together with Heinkel. The torsion bars and swing axes of the original model were replaced by coil springs and double wishbones in front and a live axle at the rear.

It was the first Saab car, which was also exported, with the majority in the U.S. went. The Saab 93 were built from December 1955 to February 1960 at 52 731 units.

On 3 September 1957, the Saab was presented 93 B. He had an undivided windscreen mounting points for front seat belts, turn signals instead Winkern and higher -facing seats.

In the fall of 1959, the Saab 93 appeared F. The F was in the model name for the now front -hinged doors (Swedish fram ). The 93 F was for half a year and the only reason why produced because the tools for the new rear end is not yet available.

In March 1960, the successor to the Saab 96 was presented with an enlarged rear.
