Saasen is a municipality in the district of Gießen rice churches in Hesse. For site include the hamlets Bollenbach and Veit mountain and the Wirberg, a former castle.

The town is located east of the main town in central Hesse. The Wieseck has its source in Saasen. A few hundred meters south of the village runs the main road 49 Saasen has a stop at the bird mountain railway.

In Saasen there is an active club life. The largest local association is the SV 1936 Saasen.

History

First mentioned was the place in the year 1111.

The name changed over the centuries in several ways:

On 31 December 1970 Saasen was incorporated into the municipality of rice churches.
