Saba Yoi District

Amphoe Saba Yoi ( Thai: อำเภอ สะบ้าย้อย ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the southeastern province of Songkhla. The Songkhla province is located in the southern region of Thailand on the coast to the Gulf of Thailand.

Etymology

The name " Saba Yoi " is actually a Thai corruption of Sebayu ( Jawi: سبايو ), which means " wind " means in Malay.

Geography

Neighboring districts and territories ( from the south clockwise): Amphoe Na Thawi and the Thepha in the province of Songkhla, Amphoe Khok Pho in Pattani Province and Amphoe Mueang Yala which, Yaha and Kabang in Yala province. To the southwest lies the state of Kedah in Malaysia.

History

Saba Yoi was a district of Amphoe Thepha. It was in 1924 at a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) of Ba Hoi. 1942 moved the government administration in the Tambon Mong and gave the sub-district the name Saba Yoi. He got the full 1956 officially Amphoe status.

Management

Amphoe Saba Yoi is divided into nine subdistricts ( tambon), which continued in 62 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Saba Yoi ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สะบ้าย้อย ) is also the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of parts of the tambon Saba Yoi.

In addition, there are nine " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
