Sabahudin Kovačevič

Sabahudin Kovačevič ( born February 26, 1986 in Jesenice, SR Slovenia) is a Slovenian ice hockey player who is under contract with HK Saryarka Karaganda in the Wysschaja Hockey League since 2013.

Career

Sabahudin Kovačevič began his career in his hometown at HK Jesenice. From the season 2002/ 03 the defender played for the U20 team of the club and was parallel to the HK Kranjska Gora for the first time in the Slovenian Hockey League, the top division of the country for use. There he was able to increase in the next three years the number of its operations continuously and established himself in the league. From 2005 he was awarded a contract for the first team in his parent club in Jesenice. By 2010, he was active for the club both in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga ( EBEL ) as well as in the Slovenian Hockey League. In the latter he won four league titles with the team that is allowed to start after leaving in the EBEL in the Slovenian play-offs. For the 2010/11 season Kovacevic signed a contract with the first reigning Italian champions Asiago, but switched after only 13 games in the series A1 for HC Alleghe.

For the 2011/12 season, signed a one year contract Kovačevič the Danish first division club Herning Blue Fox. This he left, however, already in November 2011 and joined the HK Poprad of the Slovak Extraliga on. For the 2013/14 season, he joined the Kazakh club HK Saryarka Karaganda in the Wysschaja Hockey League.

Internationally

Kovačevič represented even as a youth player his country in various tournaments. In the junior level he took part in the U18 World Youth Championship 2004 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2005 and 2006. He then belonged to the squad of the Lord national team, but initially missed some tournaments due to injuries. At the World Championships in 2009, 2010 and 2011, but he was in the squad. 2011 he succeeded with the team's promotion to the A group.
