Sabine Fischer

Sabine Fischer ( born June 29, 1973 in Menznau ) is a Swiss medium-and long -distance runner.

At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000 she finished ninth in the 1500 -meter run, and at the Universiade 2001, she took the bronze medal over the same distance. With her personal best of 4:05,14 min she finished fourth in the Eternal Swiss leaderboard.

After that, they focused more on the road race. From 2005 to 2009 she took second place in each of the running series of post- cups. In 2007 she won on the half marathon course of the Lausanne Marathon in 1:13:06 h and is thus also over this distance the fourth fastest Swiss at all. Both in 2007 and in 2008 won the Zurich Fischer New Year's run. In 2009, she began with a victory at Kerzerslauf, but a knee tendon surgery then had to undergo and was only able to attend the end of season race again.

In 2010 she finished third in 5000 - meter race at the European Athletics Championships with a new personal best time of 15:19,80 min 9th place. At the end of the year for the first time fishermen could decide for itself the Post Cup.

In 2011 she was Swiss champion in Lyss about 10 km on the road. Fischer qualified in the 5000 meter race for the World Athletics Championships in 2011, but had to forego participation because of pain in the left ankle.
