Sabine Meyer

Sabine Meyer ( born March 30, 1959 in Crailsheim ) is a German clarinetist and is today the world's most renowned soloists. She was one of the first women in 1983 with the Berlin Philharmonic, was the position of solo clarinettist there but because it was for her sake disputes between the orchestra and the conductor Herbert von Karajan and she was increasingly in demand as a soloist otherwise. Since 1993 she has been a professor at the Musikhochschule Lübeck. In 1994 she worked with jazz clarinetist Eddie Daniels and arranger / composer Torrie Zito together ( " Blues for Sabine" ).

Sabine Meyer is married with clarinetist Reiner Wehle and has two children. Her brother Wolfgang is also a clarinetist.
