Sablatnig SF-2

The Sablatnig SF-2 was a German military aircraft during the First World War.

The Sablatnig Flugzeugbau GmbH was founded in Berlin on 5th October 1916. In the same year the company supplied with the SF-2 their first series -built seaplane to the Imperial Navy from. The zweistielige tense two-seat biplane was the Navy designation BFT, which stood for an unarmed two-seat seaplane with radio equipment. The float plane had a continuous upper wing uniform depth with oblique ends. Both wings were zweiholmige wooden structures with fabric covering, the twin floats were three stages.

By 1917, a total of 46 SF -2 were produced, which were in the North and Baltic Seas are used. Since the company Sablatnig was quite small and the production in addition to the ongoing developments could not perform to LFG and LVG involved in the production.

From SF 2 SF 5 was developed.
