SABMiller

SABMiller is a limited company under English law and the world's second largest brewer after Anheuser -Busch InBev. The company was created in 2002 from the merger of South African Breweries and Miller Brewing Company.

The Group is represented in over 75 countries with breweries. Its largest markets are Africa, North America, Central Europe and Eastern Europe.

The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and constituent of the FTSE 100 Index. The largest share owned by 36 % of all shares of the company is Altria Group, formerly Miller Brewing belonged.

Takeover of Foster 's Group

On 21 September 2011, SABMiller announced that it had been agreed with the Australian Foster 's Group on a takeover. SABMiller offered 5.10 AUD for a Foster's share. Thus, the market valuation of Foster's was AUD 9.9 billion. The acquisition was completed in December 2011. Previously, SABMiller had failed in August 2011 with a hostile takeover attempt.
