Sachet

The Sachet ( sachet of French, bag) is a small box in the pocket or bag form.

The name is derived from the lavender bags, which shall be kept as a fragrance dispenser in linen closets. Today sachets are usually made of plastic and come when required in an airtight sealed variant, among other things, for the packaging of cosmetics such as shampoo or shower gel, towelettes, lens cleaning cloths, but also of food, such as smaller quantities of mustard or ketchup used. Also, advertising samples are placed in sachets in circulation. In the medical field is the name Sachet (abbreviated properly. ) Used for drugs that are packaged in powder or granular form, as well as in liquid, cream and gel form in the correct dosage bags. These bags can be polyester - aluminum-polyethylene laminates.

In German, this type of packaging is also called sealed bags.
