Axis is a city in Dallas County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located 5 km northeast of Garland, 30 km northeast of Dallas and has a total area of 25.6 km ², of which 0.4 km ² water surface.

History

Axis was founded in 1845 by German immigrant William axis. The formal founding year was 1886, when Sachse set for one of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway station available.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 9,751 people in 3,224 households and 2,746 families. The population density was 386.9 inhabitants per km ².
