Sacrotuberous ligament

The sacrotuberous ligament is a band in the pelvic area. It draws from the lateral edge of the sacrum and the posterior superior iliac spine of the ilium to the ischium ( ischial tuberosity ). It skips the major ischial notch ( greater sciatic notch ) and forms the greater sciatic foramen.

Ligament sacrotuberous human has a triangular shape as a result of wide -area approach. When predators it is a rather rotund strand. In ungulates it is areally and is therefore referred to as " wide band Beck " ( sacrotuberous ligament of uterus ).
