Sadayoshi Tanabe

Tanabe Sadayoshi (Japanese田 辺 定义; born October 20, 1888 in Kio, † January 18, 2000 in Kawasaki ) was a Japanese bibliographer.

Awareness beyond the borders of Japan, he became particularly through the promotion of Japanese Studies in the United States. With the University of Michigan, he started an exchange program at the Center for Japanese Studies at Okayama Tanabe acted as a consultant.

After the death of his compatriot Denzo Ishisaki - the age of the Spaniard Antonio Urrea - Hernandez was confirmed in 2005 - he was 110 years, the oldest living man in the world. Also claim to that title brought the American John Painter, who was born one month before him the light of day. Since birth certificates between some discrepancies exist, however, he is not fully recognized.
