The management of brands and product rights retained the KBD but for itself 1983 Daewoo Group purchased Saehan Motor in a very established and with the renaming of that the Daewoo Motor Company.

Vehicle production began in 1978 the brand Saehan with the coming of Chevrolet Camina. A few months later the models established Saehan Bird, Max, Maepsy -Na, record Royale, who were all sister models of Shinjin Record Royale and the Opel Rekord. When production of the Camino was discontinued in 1980, the Gemini came to his successors, who also was based on the Opel Rekord.
