These mostly over several days, often associated with a pilgrimage festivals usually carry the name of the saint or of the place or the church (eg, San Mauro Sorgono ) and have a long tradition, some with Equestrian Games as the Palio, or S ' Ardia is connected.

Today, however, Sagra also commonly referred a folk festival which is dedicated to a regional agricultural product or a gastronomic specialty (eg regional pastas, olive oil, wine, typically these festivals are then called Wine Festival - Festival of Grapes, Sagra della castagna - feast of the chestnut, Sagra del cinghiale - Feast of wild boar, etc.).
