Saguia el Hamra (Arabic الساقية الحمراء as- Saqiya al - hamra ', DMG as- Sāqiya al -Hamra ʾ, the red river bed '), together with Río de Oro is one of the areas from which the former Spanish province (until 1969: Colony ) Western Sahara (Sahara Occidental) was.
