Sahuaripa ( engl.: Yellow Ant ) is a city in the west of the Mexican state of Sonora. Sahuaripa is located at 440 meters and has 4,041 inhabitants ( 2010). Sahuaripa is the capital of the municipality of Sahuaripa.

History

The first settlers of the area were the Opata. In 1641 missionaries founded the municipality under the name of Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de Sahuaripa.
