Sai Buri District

Amphoe Sai Buri ( Thai: อำเภอ สายบุรี ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the province of Pattani Pattani Province The lies in the southeast of the southern region of Thailand in the Gulf of Thailand.

The indigenous Malays call the county Teluban (which is also the name of a small town in the district ) or Selin manure Bayu, the Malay word which comes from the Sanskrit for " wind protection".

Geography

Adjacent counties and regions are (from south-east clockwise): Amphoe May Kaen Province Pattani, Narathiwat province Amphoe Bacho and Amphoe Kapho, Thung Yang Daeng and Panare again in Pattani. To the east is the Gulf of Thailand.

Parts of the forest park Prasat Nang Phomhom ( Thai: วนอุทยาน ปราสาท นาง ผม หอม, Prasat Nang Phomhom Forest Park ) lie in the west of the county. A small waterfall in the park is best to visit in November and December.

Management

Amphoe Sai Buri is divided into eleven subdistricts ( tambon), which further into 64 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Taluban is the name of a small town ( thesaban tambon) in the district, it consists of the whole tambon Taluban.

In addition, there are ten " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
