Sailor Roberts
Brian "Sailor" Roberts ( born March 7, 1931 † 23 June 1995), was an American professional poker player.
Before he became a professional player, he retired as a " Rounder " by the state and held with other legends such as Doyle Brunson and Amarillo Slim look for playing opportunities. Roberts was not only a poker player in the world-class, but also a master contract bridge player.
Roberts won the main event at the World Series of Poker 1975 ( WSOP ), which he received his second WSOP bracelet and $ 210,000. His first bracelet he won in the World Series of Poker 1974 at the " Deuce to Seven Draw " tournament.
Roberts got his nickname "Sailor" ( sailors ) because he served during the Korean War in the United States Navy.
Roberts died of hepatitis induced by sclerosis.
