Saint-Arnoult-en-Yvelines
Saint- Arnoult -en- Yvelines is a town with 6154 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the region of Ile- de -France, about 14 km southeast of Rambouillet and 65 km from Paris. It lies on the River Rémarde. Saint- Arnoult -en- Yvelines to Rambouillet arrondissement of the department of Yvelines. Françoise Poussineau is since March 2008 the mayor of the municipality of Saint -Arnoult -en- Yvelines.
History
The name of the village comes from the hl. Arnoul. This was Bishop of Tours in the 6th century.
A document from the 17th century has the city under the rule of de Rohan -Rochefort family until the French Revolution.
