Saint-Astier (Lot-et-Garonne)

Saint- Astier is a commune in the Lot- et- Garonne in the Aquitaine region. It has 205 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). The population has changed only slightly in the last 40 years (1962: 178 inhabitants).

The municipality is bordered by two rivers, south of the Dourdèze, north of the Garnazel.

Its attractions include the two Romanesque churches Église St Astier in the 12th century and Eglise Saint- Nazaire from the 13th century, as well as the ruined castle Château de Puychagut, built in the 12th and 13th century and destroyed towards the end of the Hundred Years' War.
