Saint-Aulaye

Saint- Aulaye is a commune with 1361 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Dordogne in the Aquitaine region; it belongs to the district of Périgueux and the canton of Saint- Aulaye whose capital it is.

Geography

The community is located just on the border to neighboring Charente in the Poitou -Charentes. Neighboring municipalities of Saint- Aulaye are Bonnes in the north, Saint-Privat -des- Prés in the Northeast, Saint- Vincent- Jalmoutiers in the east, Servanches the southeast, La Roche -Chalais in the southwest, Puymangou in the West, as well as Les Essards and Chenaud in the northwest. The place is situated on the left bank of the River Dronne, at the confluence of its tributary Rizonne.
