St. Boniface is the parish church of the Catholic Church of St. Boniface in the district town of Heide (Paderborn ).

The community of St. Boniface forms with St. Henry and St. Stephen the Pastoralverbund Paderborn north-east, in the deanery of the Archdiocese of Paderborn same name.

History

In 1919 was built a chaplaincy of the cathedral parish in the city of Heath in the north of Paderborn, for which there was at first only a wooden church. The church then comprising 1,200 Catholics. 1928, the construction of a massive church was decided, which was planned by the diocesan architect Kurt Matern.

On April 21, 1930, the foundation stone of the church building was laid by the then parish priest Köhne. The completed building was dedicated on November 2, 1930 by Bishop Caspar old.

1938 Vikarie for independent parish was charged. Priest was the parochial vicar William Koehne. He was succeeded in 1964 pastor Wilmes.

After the Second World War, the church building was badly damaged and required repairs. Moreover, because the number of church members was greatly increased, it was decided to build a new. With the planning of the Cologne architect Hans Schilling was commissioned. This church was dedicated on June 6, 1981 by Archbishop Johannes Joachim Degenhardt.

From December 1985 to June 2007 had a pastor Erwin Hampel in the community.

After the church itself and the kindergarten were built St. Boniface, a parish hall was still being built, the construction of which was completed in 1988.

Since 1 January 2013, the resolution on this date parish of St. Stephen is one of St. Boniface.

1 July 2014, a process begins, heard at the end of the Pastoralverbund Paderborn north-east, to the St. Boniface, will be merged with the Pastoralverbund Paderborn West to the pastoral space Paderborn North.

Architecture

The church building is a brick building on irregular - polygonal floor plan. Noteworthy is the tower whose four floors tapering gradually upward.

Use

The church building is used for worship. The adjoining two-storey parish hall is used by the groups of the community, such as the parish council, the parish council, the Catholic community of women, the Catholic Workers Movement, the church choir, seniors, Caritas Conference and the bonuses youth.
