Saint Eskil

Saint Eskil was an English monk who was sent by the Holy Siegfried ( Sigfrid ) Växjö as bishop for missionary work " in all Swedish northern forests ". His bishopric was Tuna - today Eskilstuna. When he tried to prevent a pagan sacrificial feast Straengnaes, he was stoned. This should have occurred around the year 1080.

Eskil is depicted as a bishop, his attributes are three stones.

His feast is celebrated on 12 June.
