Saint-Germain-Lavolps

Saint- Germain- Lavolps ( Sent German in Occitan ) is a commune with 90 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Corrèze, in the Limousin region. The municipality is a member of the Association of Municipalities Bugeat - Sornac - Millevaches au Coeur. The inhabitants of the Saint- Germain and Saint - Germaine call themselves.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Massif Central on the Plateau de Millevaches and thus also in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin.

Tulle, prefecture of the department is located, about 65 kilometers south-west, Égletons about 30 kilometers southwest and Ussel about 10 kilometers southeast.

Neighboring municipalities of Saint- Germain- Lavolps are Bellechassagne in the north, Saint -Remy in the North East and Saint- Pardoux -le- Vieux in the east, Chaveroche the southeast, Alleyrat in the south, Meymac the southwest, Saint- Sulpice- les -Bois in the west and Sornac in the northwest.

The village lies on the right bank of the Diège, a right tributary of the Dordogne.

The village is located about 15 kilometers northwest of the junction 23 of the A89 autoroute.

Description: The coat of arms is quartered by blue and gold, accompanied a golden right door with black fittings of three five-pointed stars in field 1 and 4, in the other fields are three red bars with gold beginning.
