Saint Irmgardis

Irmgard of Süchteln ( Irmgard / Irmengardis of Aspel, ~ of Cologne; * before 1013 house Aspel at Rees, † at a September 4th 1082-1089 ) is venerated especially in Süchteln in Viersen as saints.

Life

The Life-history and life circumstances Irmgards are unclear, as the legendary tradition does not allow firm conclusions. She is said to have lived as a hermit in Süchteln. In Stadler's Holy Encyclopedia one reads: "She has distinguished themselves by their werkthätige charity and its rare piety. The cult focuses primarily on Süchteln that " Irmgardisstadt ". Irmgard is considered to be patron saint who protects the community in emergencies.
