Saint James the Less

James the little one is a man mentioned in the New Testament.

The Gospels use his name only to distinguish his mother Mary of Mary Magdalene ( Mark 15:40 EU, Mk 16.1 EU; Mt 27,56 EU; 28.1 Mt EU, Lk 24,10 EU). At these points, this Maria is also known as the mother of Joseph, who was the brother of James accordingly. Only the Gospel of Mark uses the nickname " the little ( younger) " Mark 15:40 EU, the parallel passages in Matthew and Luke speak only of " James ".

In the tradition of the Church of the Little James was often equated with the Apostle James the Less and James the Just (James, the brother of the Lord).
