Saint Mirin

Mirin (also: Merinus, Merin ) was a later sainted Irish monk and missionary of the 6/7 Century. Before he moved to missionary to Scotland he was prior of Bangor Abbey

Mirin came from Ireland, but was similar to other Irish clergymen (eg Columba of Iona ), due to the close ecclesiastical ties of the island to Scotland, to Scotland, where he founded the monastery of Paisley beginning of the 7th century. He died there (around 620? ), And then developed the place into a place of pilgrimage.

Feast of the Holy is September 15. Mirin is, among other saint of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Paisley.
