Saint Petersburg Conservatory

The State St Petersburg Conservatory " NA Rimsky -Korsakov "(Russian: Санкт - Петербургская государственная консерватория имени Н.А. Римского - Корсакова or only Санкт - Петербургская консерватория ) is next to the Moscow Conservatory, one of the most prestigious music colleges in Russia.

The Saint Petersburg Conservatory was founded in 1862 by the pianist Anton Rubinstein in Saint Petersburg and the Grand Duchess Elena Pavlova and is named after the former music professor Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov since 1944. The Saint Petersburg Conservatory currently has approximately 1,400 students and 275 academic staff ( 2004).
