Saint Sabina

Sabina was a saint and martyr of the early church. Your feast day is August 29.

According to tradition, the beginning of the 2nd century the house was the noble Roman widow Sabina at the site of the present church of Santa Sabina in Rome. She was pagan and had a slave named Serapia. By Serapia Sabina learned Christianity know and eventually became a Christian. Both Sabina and Serapia were indicted for their faith, condemned and executed in the year 119.

In the 5th century, their house was converted into a church. Sabina is considered one of the great Märtyrinnen Rome.
