Saint- Saphorin ( Lavaux) is a municipality in the district of Lavaux -Oron in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland.

Geography

Saint- Saphorin (Lavaux ) lies at 403 m above sea level. M., 14 km east-southeast of the canton capital Lausanne ( straight line ). The wine village extends on a narrow spur on the foot of the Lavaux vineyards, a scenic location about 30 m above the lake level of Lake Geneva at the foot of Mont Pelerin.

History

The municipality of Saint- Saphorin ( Lavaux) was already inhabited in Roman times. It remains of a Roman villa and a milestone were found from this period.
