Sajida Talfah

Sajida Chair Talfah Allah (Arabic ساجدة خيرالله طلفاح, DMG Sāǧida Hair Allāh Talfah ) (* 1936) is the first woman and cousin of Saddam Hussein.

She is the mother of his two sons Uday and Qusai, and his three daughters, Raghad, Rana and Hala Hussein. She is the eldest daughter of Saddam's uncle Khairallah Talfah, who received him with 10 years with them and raised them. The marriage between her and Saddam was an arranged marriage in 1963. Before she married him, she was an elementary school teacher.

She was placed under house arrest in 1997. This happened after an assassination attempt on her son Uday Hussein in December 1996.

In April 2003, Sajida Talfah fled from Iraq, possibly to Syria. Later, she applied for and received a residence permit for Qatar and moved to the local capital Doha. Since October 2004, her whereabouts are unknown.

2008 television miniseries The Hussein emerged: In the center of power in the Iranian actress Shohreh Aghdashloo took over the role Sadschidas.
