Sak Lek District

Amphoe Sak Lek ( in Thai: อำเภอ สาก เหล็ก ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the northeastern province of Phichit. The Phichit Province is located in the southern part of Northern Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise): Amphoe Wang Sai Phun and the Mueang Phichit Province Phichit, as well as Bang Krathum, Wang Thong and Noen Maprang the province of Phitsanulok.

History

Sak Lek was on 1 April 1995 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by the three Tambon Sak Lek, Tha Yiam, and Khlong Sai were split off from Mueang Phichit. On 15 May 2007, the Thai government has decided to bring all the 81 sub-districts in the "normal" Amphoe status to simplify administration. With the publication in the Royal Gazette on August 24, 2007, this decision officially entered into force.

Management

The circle is divided into five subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 44 villages ( Muban ).

Sak Lek ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล สาก เหล็ก ) has a small-town status ( thesaban tambon) and covers parts of the tambon same name.

There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
