Sakar ( Bulgarian Сакар ) is a small mountain range in southeastern Bulgaria ( Thrace ). This kuppelfömige survey has the highest point of the summit Wischegrad ( 856 m). Sakar lies between the rivers Maritsa, Tundscha, Sokolniza and Saslijka. The lowest point at the foot of the mountain is 45 meters high. The mountain range has been inhabited since ancient times. The region has the largest stock of birds of prey that are affected by extinction in Bulgaria.

The monastery Sveti Troiza is a cultural monument in this region. The main administrative center of the region is Topolowgrad. Until the 1990s, the region was very isolated and economically underdeveloped.
