Sala, Sala Parish
Sala ( German: Holmhof ) is located in the countryside Sēlija a village in the east of Latvia, south of the Dvina.
History
Until World War I, was only a school building. Today, the city is mainly composed of multi-family houses of the Soviet period as well as a middle school, a kindergarten, a cultural center and a pharmacy.

2009, the municipalities and Sala Sēlpils combined into one administrative unit. ( See also: Administrative divisions of Latvia ) The office is located in the village of Sala. 2010 were registered 4297 inhabitants.
