Salado is a city in Bell County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States.

Geography

The city is located on Salado Creek, east of Interstate 35 between Waco and Austin and has a total area of 44.1 km ² without significant water surface.

Demographic data

According to the census of 2000, there were 3,475 people in 1,382 households and 1,112 families. The population density was 78.8 inhabitants per km ². The racial the population was composed of 92.37 % White, 0.26 % African American, 0.63 % Native American, 0.60 % Asian, 0.06 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 5.15 % from other ethnic groups.
